The towns of Ballina, Holycross and Knocklofty have been identified as locations prone to significant flood risks in a national assessment in Ireland. ByrneLooby has been appointed to complete the preliminary design, planning, detailed design, construction supervision and handover to provide flood relief protection to each of the towns. The works will include flood defence embankments, flood gates, floodwalls, river channel capacity improvements, local drainage improvements and upgrade(s) to culverts.

Our Role

Appointed for the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, initial works carried out by ByrneLooby includes the preliminary design, which will include completing hydrological and hydraulic (river modelling) assessments, identifying the preferred schemes and then completing the necessary environmental and planning assessments in order to obtain statutory approval for the schemes.
