The Riyadh Metro is a rapid transit system under construction in the capital city of Saudia Arabia. It will consist of 6 metro lines with a total length of 176km and 85 stations. FAST Consortium has been commissioned to build the Green Line which will run underground within a bored tunnel along King Abdulaziz Road. The length of the line is 13km and it will feature 11 deep underground stations, in addition to 2 transfer stations with the Red and Blue lines.
ByrneLooby were appointed by the FAST Consortium to undertake the design of the permanent utility connections and all temporary utility diversions as well as the geotechnical design of the deep station boxes. The key services we provided included utility searches, feasibility studies, capacity analysis, diversionary assessments, new connections and disconnections, unchartered services, temporary works for the main contractor and BIM 3D modelling for the utility diversions.
