Osberstown WWTP

Osberstown WWTW

ByrneLooby were appointed by BAM Contractors as their civil engineering consultant to deliver a €12 million upgrade of the existing Waste Water Treatment Plant at Osberstown in Co. Kildare. The upgrade increased the capacity from 80,000PE (Population Equivalent) to 130,000PE and greatly improved the discharge effluent quality.

Our Role

Our role included the detailed design of all civils work for the upgrade of the main plant and sludge treatment facility. This encompassed 2km of interconnecting pipe work; reinforced concrete design of inlet works and distribution chambers, 17,000m3 of combined anaerobic/anoxic reactor and storm water tank structure, primary and final sedimentation tanks, sludge digestion chambers, tertiary treatment chambers and associated process buildings including refurbishment and repairs to existing buildings for new process equipment.
