ByrneLooby worked with Irish Water to fast-track the tender process to bring the project to site as a matter of urgency. While the new plant was being constructed, a temporary water treatment plant which included a filtration and UV treatment system at the adjacent Lisheen lake was installed to improve drinking water for consumers in the interim. Our water team acted as the employer's representative/PSDP to perform duties connected with the specimen design and contract administration of the new 6Ml/d capacity water treatment plant. The plant was procured under the Irish Water amended FIDIC Gold DBO Contract. ByrneLooby was responsible for delivering all Civil and MEICA specimen design, procurement and construction supervision for the new water treatment plant, including a new abstraction source and the associated transfer pumping station.
Under our duties and responsibilities, we fast-tracked the project specimen design and tender process in line with programme requirements. Our proactive approach and experience met the client's accelerated programme and was delivered on time. The scheme benefits 8,500 water consumers by removing boil water notices and reducing THM's, (Trihalomethanes) through a coagulation treatment process and ensures a safe, sustainable water supply into the future.
