Our Role
ByrneLooby strengthened the existing masonry commercial shipping quay using a combination of ground anchors and piles to mitigate against the undermining and subsidence of the quay wall structure. Design proposals premeditated the fact that construction works were carried out in a live operational port and consideration was given to minimising closure periods, working around regular ship timetables. These maritime works were designed in accordance with best-practice standards and all designs undertaken considering the General Principles of Prevention. Using our established relationships with the contractor and client, ByrneLooby ensured the construction risk was minimised. ByrneLooby engineer’s wealth of marine experience ensured future maintenance risks were identified, eliminated or managed. All design and construction were completed within a tight programme set by the Client.
