Jazan Economic City in the southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is currently being developed as a modern, world-class economic city intended to promote sustainable economic development in the region. In 2015, a revised master plan was issued, and a new EIA required to address the changes in this master plan.
ByrneLooby was appointed to undertake the marine ecological surveys associated with the EIA on behalf of Saudi Aramco. The surveys include water and sediment sampling for 100 sites, deployment of two Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers, detailed Drop Down Video (DDV) Surveys to identify the benthic habitats present within the development footprint and Diver Based Ecological Surveys. ByrneLooby also be provided a marine ecology baseline report for inclusion into the overall EIA.
