Grousemount Wind Farm is being developed by Kerry Wind Power Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of ESB. The site is located in south east Kerry, between the villages of Kilgarvan and Coolea in Co Cork. The project for 38No. Wind Turbines was granted permission from An Bord Pleanála in Summer 2016. Grousemount Wind Farm began construction in 2018 and includes approximately 23km of access roads.
Ayesa were employed by ESBI to carry out geomorphology and geological surveys and to assess the Wind Farm Detailed Geotechnical Design and advise on any changes required to mitigate the risk of rock slope instability. We developed solutions for problematic areas such as deep rock cuts and hardstand areas with rock stability concerns and introduced geosynthetic reinforcement for hardstand fill areas on steeply sloping ground.
