East Sitra Link Road Scheme
The East Sitra Link Road Scheme intends to increase efficient connectivity within the Sitra Island and to the King Hamad Highway, including ties for the East Sitra Housing Development, the Sitra Industrial Area and industrial facilities such as BAPCO and ALBA. Appointed by the Engineering Consultant, SSH, ByrneLooby will undertake the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the East Sitra Link Road Scheme. The ultimate Client, Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (MOWMAUP) intend to develop the East Sitra Link in a total of four stages, to eventually create links between Mina Salman and King Hamad Highway.
ByrneLooby will conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in line with Legislative Decree No. 21 and conditions set by the Supreme Council for Environment (SCE). The scope of the EIA includes:
1. Environmental Scoping Report (ESR), providing a scoping assessment of all potential environmental impacts and defining the scope of the EER (main body of the EIA).
2. Environmental Evaluation Report (EER), to providing a full assessment of all environmental impacts in line with internationally recognised assessment methodologies.
3. Air Quality Dispersion Modelling and Noise Modelling, determining the operational impact of increasing traffic volumes on surrounding sensitive receptors.
4. Environmental Management Plan (EMP), providing best-practise mitigation and monitoring advise for uptake by the appointed Contractor.
