ByrneLooby were appointed as Consulting Engineers (In JV partnership with Atkins Ireland) for the design of Dublin Ports Masterplan 2. This ambitious plan, which is part of Dublin Ports Masterplan to 2040, covers an area of circa 57 hectares. The project is comprised of the development of a new unified ferry terminal building and associated vehicle facilities, new State Services facilities, a new RoRo berth to accommodate future large ferry vessels, extensions and redevelopment of existing ferry vessel berths, expansion of the container terminal, capital dredging to create deeper berths and maneuvering areas.
As part of the JV partnership, ByrneLooby are responsible for the project management of the overall project and design of all marine, geotechnical and heavy civil engineering elements of the project. This project has demanded an innovative approach to both design and project management, working in consultation with Dublin Ports Project Management Office (PMO).
