Ayesa provided P.J. Edwards & Co. Ltd (PJE) with design support throughout the project. Prior to commencement, Ayesa carried out a design check for a double soft wall, which reduced the number of hard (reinforced) piles. Where ground investigation information did not align with encountered ground conditions, the design was refined to appropriately reflect those encountered. In some areas of the site, bedrock levels varied by approximately 8m. PJE relayed this information to Ayesa and it was agreed to reduce secant pile wall and foundation pile lengths and reinforcement cage designs where possible. This not only had an impact on the construction timelines but also reduced overall project costs and material haulage to site.
