Bahrain International Airport - Access Improvement Scheme
ByrneLooby was commissioned by Arcadis to provide environmental consulting for the Bahrain International Airport Access Improvement Scheme. The scheme is being promoted by the Ministry of Works - Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning (MOWMUP), Road Planning and Design Directorate (RPDD).
Our work included an assessment of the new highway, including an area of reclamation, on the surrounding population as well as on Arad Bay, a protected area and park due to the presence of mangroves (Avicennia Marina). ByrneLooby assessed the baseline environmental conditions as well as future plans that could have adverse environmental impacts. A detailed CEMP was produced which presented measures to mitigate adverse impacts associated with the project.
