C105 Waterfront is a Link International Properties development comprising of a 154,000 sq.m iconic mixed-use development including two residential towers. ByrneLooby was appointed to provide specialist marine and geotechnical engineering support involving the development of the concept to detailed design for the pontoon and mooring arrangement, blockwork quay wall along the development waterfront and the foundation piles for the floating platforms, as well as construction supervision.
ByrneLooby was appointed by Lead Architects, Ewan Architectural & Engineering Consultancy, to provide specialist marine and geotechnical engineering support as well as construction supervision. Our scope involved the development of the concept to detailed design for the pontoon and mooring arrangement, blockwork quay wall along the development waterfront and the foundation piles for the floating platforms.
ByrneLooby added significant value to the project by reducing the number of foundation piles required to support the floating platforms. With the use of state-of-the-art geotechnical software and a thorough understanding of the soil characteristics, wave and current loadings we were able to optimise the design and reduce the number of piles required. This reduction resulted in cost and time-saving.
