Design
The design included a period of data collection and analysis followed by the hydrodynamic modelling studies which comprised a hydrodynamic (HD) model to determine the water levels and currents, a spectral wave (SW) model to determine the wave climate at the site and a flushing study to assess the water exchange across the site. The beach design included a beach stability and coastal evolution assessment to determine the construction profile and eventual stable profile and orientation of the 4.4km artificial beach.
