Our Role
Ayesa was appointed by the piling and anchoring subcontractor PJ Edwards & Co Ltd., working on behalf of John Sisk to carry out the detailed design of the perimeter secant pile wall, foundation bearing piles and the temporary tieback anchors.
Due to the vicinity of the live Luas line, and very tight movement limits in place to prevent excessive track settlement, our team carried out detailed finite element method (FEM) modelling of the basement interaction with the track using Plaxis. As such, the design requirements were developed to minimise the risks to the tram line and the adjacent buildings.
