Last February, we welcomed Charles O’Brien, Series Editor of the Pevsner Architectural Guides, to speak for us at our ByrneLooby London Seminar.

Charles joined the editorial and research team for Pevsner Architectural Guides in 1997 and has been co-author and author of several volumes of the revised editions of the Buildings of England books including London 5: East, Bedfordshire, Huntingdonshire and Peterborough and, most recently, Hampshire: South. He is currently working on the revision of Ian Nairn’s volume for Surrey.

The seminar saw Charles give some background to the series, how Pevsner did it, how the revision programme has responded to the expanding interest in the subject and how close the revision of Buuldinga of England is to completion.
