ByrneLooby achieves BIM ISO 19650 Certification

ByrneLooby achieves BIM ISO 19650 Certification

We would like to congratulate our BIM team on successfully achieving ISO 19650 certification.

This certification demonstrates our commitment to international best practices in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and will provide added value for our clients and projects.   ISO 19650 is the international standard for using BIM to manage data and information over the whole lifecycle of a built asset.  BIM Models often incorporate graphic, physical, commercial, environmental, and operational data to help keep the project team updated on design changes, eliminate risks, and provide more robust business continuity. By sharing the most up-to-date information on a BIM model, we can help create better outcomes for the built environment.

Here are some of the BIM brings to projects and our clients:

  • Cost and resource optimisationBIM helps minimise waste and reduce costs by streamlining processes.
  • Increased efficiency and shorter project durationsBIM enables teams to work more efficiently and complete projects in less time.
  • Enhanced communication and collaboration:  BIM improves communication and coordination between all stakeholders, leading to streamlined and effective project delivery. From collaboration to design optioneering, BIM can unlock countless efficiencies in the delivery process.
  • Expansion of prefabrication and modular construction options: BIM allows for increased opportunities for off-site construction methods, leading to more efficient and cost-effective building practices.
  • Higher-quality outcomes: BIM leads to superior project outcomes by enabling precise and detailed project planning, which results in higher-quality and more sustainable building designs.
  • Helping clients meet sustainability targets: Sustainability benefits society and the wider environment and brings financial and reputational business benefits. Quality data enables clients to measure performance against targets and supports continuous improvement.
  • Assisting the procurement process: it enables us to see what is required of a contractor in advance and bring definition to cost and programme.

What does this certification mean for our clients?

Our clients expect the best, and we are constantly improving and enhancing our services to ensure we adhere to global best practices. Collaborating with a company that comprehends the potential of BIM provides numerous advantages in terms of project efficiency and quality.

One of the more significant client challenges is pinpointing the time and resources a project will require. While it's not possible to predict the precise cost and duration of a project, BIM can reduce uncertainty by helping clients make design decisions and manage project resources efficiently (labour and materials), making it possible to complete projects within programme and cost.

Our BIM Manager, Rahul Malaviya, commented:
"Being ISO 19650 certified means that our organisation has been independently verified as providing the internationally recognised standard for BIM, Having this global mark of excellence means our clients can be confident that they are getting the highest quality of BIM from our team for their project."
