ByrneLooby support iCRAG as industry partner

Apr 06, 2016

ByrneLooby is proud to announce our involvement as an industry partner with the Irish Centre for Research in Applied Geoscience (ICRAG).

ICRAG’s aim is to achieve international excellence in applied geoscience research in a full range of application areas by collaborating with suitably large scale multi-disciplinary Industry partners. The programme will run from 2016 – 2020.

The collaboration agreement will allow ByrneLooby to engage with academic partners and government agencies to share capabilities in ‘Geohazards and Geotechnical Engineering’ while further strengthening our industry knowledge of marine systems in an engineering context.

Our current and future projects in Ireland, and abroad, will benefit from the close relationship with experts in the areas of marine, geology, geotechnical engineering and sediment transport.

This is a very exciting research venture for ByrneLooby which will help de-risk engineering projects and mitigate against the impact of extreme natural events and geohazards in coastal areas.

Our involvement in the programme is due to start later this year with the creation of research projects in the Flooding and Marine spheres. These in turn will help shape our value offering to clients by strengthening and embedding the outcomes of our high quality research within industry practice.
