Run In The Dark 2014

Nov 17, 2014

This month 30 Byrne Looby employees pulled on their trainers after work to participate in Run In The Dark.  The run was held simultaneously in 5 official locations - Dublin, Cork, Belfast, London and Manchester with independent pop up events in cities worldwide. Byrne Looby had representatives in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Belfast and London, running in both the 10km and 5km course. Well done to everyone who participated.

Special congratulations to Paul Stephenson from our Dublin office, who was placed 5th overall in Dublin out of over 7,000 athletes, running 10K in 00:35:32.

All funds raised from these events will go towards the Mark Pollock Trust, and their mission to find a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Unbroken by blindness in 1998, Mark Pollock suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury in 2010 that left him paralysed. The Mark Pollock Trust believe that the cure for spinal cord injuries simply requires enough of the right people having the will to make it happen. Through funding Mark Pollock’s exploration of recovery from spinal cord injury they are connecting people around the world to mainstream what is currently on the fringes of spinal cord treatment.

This is Byrne Looby’s third year participating in the event and we’re looking forward to next year already!
