Mercer's Yard

Jul 31, 2014

Byrne Looby Partners have been providing tender advice to Osborne in their successful bid for the Mercer’s Yard project in London and will now provide temporary works design for the £20 million scheme.

Located just off Covent Garden it seeks to enhance and complement the surrounding urban realm through simple, elegant and very well detailed buildings. A new street is created, making a new link between Mercer & Langley Streets thus connecting it to St. Martin’s Courtyard. The scheme also introduces a piazza, allowing an identifiable social courtyard at the heart of the newly accessible site. The retained historic 19th century warehouse will be joined by three new ‘warehouse’ buildings, each accommodating apartments and ground level shops, bringing life to the new street and piazza.

The end client is the Mercers’ Livery Company and Architect is Ian Ritchie Architects.
