REALIGNMENT OF THE EXISTING OUTFALL WAS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROJECT'S SUCCESS

 ByrneLooby was appointed by a local contractor to provide engineering services for the realignment of the district cooling outfall pipe in Bahrain Bay as part of further development in the area. There was a requirement to realign the existing outfall of the district cooling outfall as further development was planned which overlaid the pipe alignment. Because of this the pipe needed to be realigned and an analysis of the hydraulic efficiency and an assessment of the pipe surge was required.

ByrneLooby’s hydraulic engineers were engaged to undertake hydraulic modelling to assess these conditions using InfoWorks and provided results to the contractor to ensure that the hydraulic performance was to the required specification and that the realignment did not provide adverse hydraulic conditions.

As part of this, an analysis of the existing air valves was undertaken and advice provided as to the location, size and number of valves required for the realignment.
