Satah Al Razboot, Field Development Programme

a core management team to successfully oversee value engineering

Dredging International and MEDCO have been awarded a contract for mixed dredging and civil engineering works to construct two artificial energy islands and service harbours at the offshore Satah Al-Razboot (SARB) oil field, near Abu Dhabi City.

The new project aims to provide Abu Dhabi with energy based on facilities for oil drilling from the previously untapped offshore field, 120km off the northwest coast of Abu Dhabi City. The project will involve several phases and requires a core management team to successfully oversee value engineering, design, project management, client coordination, construction fabrication, and field observations during construction. The project involves excavation of some 13M m3 of, rock and placement of 4.5M m3 of fill to provide level platforms for further development under subsequent construction phases at the site.

Zὕblin employed ByrneLooby to provide support for the design phase, project management, and supervision of large excavations in soil and rock and bulk earthwork filling operations during construction of the process and tank platform areas and associated infrastructure. ByrneLooby were also employed to provide necessary coastal engineering to support design and construction of the SARB jetty and seawater intake.
