Manfouha Waste Water Treatment Plant

The upgraded plant has to cater for a peak flow of 1.25 times the average flow

National Water Company of Saudi Arabia issued a tender for sewage treatment improvement works at the existing Manfouha Waste Water Treatment Plant in Riyadh with an average flow of 600 million litres per day (ml/d) capacity. The upgraded plant has to cater for a peak flow of 1.25 times the average flow. The Treatment plant site consists of 3 separate plants identified as North, South and East The Specification prohibited any construction horizontally from the existing structures. At the North Plant, upgrade is required for the Primary Clarifier System, the existing four lane plug flow aerobic anoxic activated sludge system and the secondary clarifiers.  As part of their Tender Bid, Suido Kiko Middle East (SKME) requested ByrneLooby to carry out the Tender Design associated with this project.

ByrneLooby provided Suido Kiko the Process Philosophy which included the Process Flow Diagram for the plant, a draft P&ID for equipment, a list of Major Equipment to be replaced to accommodate new flow and load capacities as well as a schedule of prices for equipment covered by ByrneLooby design scope.  In addition, the tender design for the required upgrades to the Preliminary Treatment Plant was also provided by ByrneLooby.
