ByrneLooby managed this project as the EPC consultant for three new 10,000m ³ gas storage tanks at this Saudi power station.  

This major project involves the extension of the fuel storage facility at Makkah power station including three 29m diameter and 17m high storage tanks. We provided the piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation and SCADA design services necessary to seamlessly integrate these new tanks with the existing plant infrastructure.

Our role also included the provision of foundation designs for two additional tanks for the storage of distillate fuel. Our design comprised of a reinforced concrete ring beam enclosing a compacted stone formation.

Scope of Project

  • Extension of the fuel storage infrastructure at this Saudi power station.
  • Managed the project as the EPC consultant providing the piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation and design services necessary to fully integrate three new fuel storage tanks.
  • Role encompassed the design of the foundations for two additional tanks at the facility.
