Lincolnshire Waste to Energy

a buildable construction sequence was key for the success of this project

ByrneLooby designed the foundation and retaining walls for the waste bunker of the Linconshire Waste to Energy plant. Operating 24 hours a day the new plant will treat 150,000 tonnes of waste annually generating enough electricity to power 15,000 homes.  

With this in mind, a large waste bunker was required. A key part of our role was to define a buildable construction sequence and our design was focussed to ensure an efficient and optimal solution for our client.

Our value engineered design achieved this by avoiding the need for temporary propping during construction by making use of the long span of the capping beam for the temporary propping.

  • Foundation and Retaining Wall Design for the Waste Bunker of a new large scale Waste to Energy Plant
  • Innovative design eliminated the need for temporary propping through use of permanent propping details in the temporary situation
