Heathrow Terminal 2A

this project required large amount of space to occupy large volumes of people

ByrneLooby designed the diaphragm wall for the new 180,000m2 Terminal 2 at London Heathrow Airport. The terminal was designed by Foster & Partners and will have a capacity of 30 million passengers per year.

The diaphragm wall was required to facilitate a 13m excavation and we carried out the pile design and provided the reinforcement details for this 1m thick wall stretching 270m around the perimeter of the excavation. The deepest panel was founded at a depth of 29m.
