Halton House

Halton House

Built for Alfred De Rothschild in 1883, Halton House is a Listed Grade II* country house in the Chiltern Hills above the village of Halton in Buckinghamshire, England. The house has served as the officer’s mess for the Royal Air force, (RAF). Since 1918, Halton has continued to date largely with the interior unaltered. Recent concerns were raised about the timber, wrought iron framed and lead covered Belvedere on the roof.

Our Role

Our team of expert Conservation Engineers at Ayesa offices in London were appointed to investigate the damage and to prepare detailed working drawings for its dismantling repair and reconstruction. This work involved detailed analysis of the early steel framing, its repair off-site and the reconstruction on site to the same profiles as the original but incorporating further detailing for waterproofing and ventilation.
