Broadgate 5

This sensitive project required complex basement works for successful

completiondesigned the temporary propping and support works to allow the construction of the 3 storey basement which will sit below the new home of UBS.

Our efficient, practical propping and support designs were essential for the timely progress of the basement works and entire project programme.

The Broadgate 5 basement works were complex as there are a number of sensitive surrounding buildings and we worked closely with our client and the lead contractor Mace to design a buildable temporary propping and support solution which integrated seamlessly with the permanent works items.

Our design pushed the limits of a berm/raking prop solution and in doing so we succeeded in further value engineering the already efficient tender design.

Scope of Project

  • Design of the temporary propping for the substructure of the new home of UBS
  • Tight central London site surrounded by a number of sensitive buildings
  • Involved from tender to construction phases in the development of a buildable temporary propping scheme.
  • Satisfied highly complex criteria to successfully position the props.
