AL DHAKIRA & AL SHAMAL PTP Upgrades

A DETAILED SCOPE OF SERVICES IN THE PRE-BID SUBMISSION WAS REQUIRED FOR THE SUCCESS OF THIS PROJECT

The Al Dhakira and Al Shamal Package Sewage Treatment Plant Project comprises the design, supply, procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning and handover of two Package Sewage Treatment Plant (PTP) Upgrades in Qatar to treat sewerage flows.

ByrneLooby and their local Grade A engineering consultancy partner, ASCO, have prepared a pre-bid design for a number of international contractors bidding on this multi-million dollar project. The pre-bid design have permitted the Contractors at the Tender Stage to more accurately compile their bid and present a submission to the Client that clearly demonstrated their understanding of the brief.  BLP-ASCO’s scope of services in the Pre-Bid Design include a general process philosophy for both sites, draft P&ID for equipment covered by BLP-ASCO design scope, List of Major Equipment to be procured to comply with the Brief and an outline General Arrangement of the sites showing indicative plant locations and access roads.

Scope of Project

  • In Al Dhakira, an additional parallel treatment process stream needs to be added to the PTP to include extra 1,600 m3/d treatment capacity thus, bringing the total treatment capacity at site to 3,200 m3/d using similar size tanks.
  • In Al shamal, the Scope of Works for the upgrading scheme includes replacement septage reception facility with eight tanker bays as well as the provision of three skid mounted package treatment plants each with a design capacity of 200 m3/day.
  • The package treatment plant shall include preliminary treatment, secondary treatment, tertiary filtration, sludge extraction, and disinfection process units.
